Discover PARADIS

Porcelaines Raynaud has created a new and magical collection with an enchanting décor designed in collaboration with Fromental, a well-known name in British interior design.

Discover PARADIS

Inspiration for this pattern was drawn from Fromental's Chinoiserie wallpaper collection, which represents the exoticism and luxuriance of nature overflowing with butterflies and birds of paradise. This vision of a welcoming and untouched natural world leads us on a dreamlike journey.

The partnership with Fromental was born from a mutual attraction between two firms each with their own specific yet comparable expertise. The porcelain maker and interior designer share the same passion for colour and sophisticated designs, the same inspiration drawn from their respective pasts and the same dedication for preserving exceptional expertise.

This design was a natural choice in view of Raynaud's long-standing tradition of collections with an oriental influence, most of which were inspired by Bertrand Raynaud's father, André. During the 1950s and 1960s this lover of antiques and 18th century Chinese porcelain created a series of patterns called “Compagnie des Indes", inspired by the collection of his friend Alliaume, a Parisian antiques dealer and collector of old porcelain tableware. The use of colour and application of decoration on original shapes mark these fresh, subtle and flawless interpretations of antique patterns, such as Si Kiang : this fine example of a Vieux Marseille design, typical of 18th century faience dinner services produced in the south of France, was elegantly adapted for use on porcelain.

Raynaud is now renewing this experience with Fromental, bringing a modern twist to wallpaper patterns transferred to streamlined shapes, with the focus on patterns and the way they are centred varying according to the piece. The main pieces are available in turquoise, with a multicoloured pattern enhanced by a metallic coloured background echoing the woven effect of wallpaper.

In line with Cristobal and Verdures patterns, Paradis is now writing a new chapter in the story which links Raynaud with decorators.
